Accessing SeniorLAW Center Services

SeniorLAW Center’s Clients

All clients must meet eligibility guidelines set by SeniorLAW Center's Board of Directors:              

 

     a.  Must be at least 60 years old; and

     b.  a Philadelphia resident.

Priority for direct representation is given to elders with incomes at or near federal poverty guidelines and those otherwise most in need.

Client Access

Clients can access SeniorLAW Center 1) by telephone, 2) at its center city offices in-person without an appointment, or 3) at one of our four community legal clinics.  SeniorLAW Center's office space -- We are in The Land Title Building on the corner of Broad and Sansom Streets, 18th floor -- is provided through an in-kind donation by the Philadelphia Bar Association.  The office and its facilities are handicap accessible. 

SeniorLAW Center is accessible for telephone intake on a special intake line Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  SeniorLAW Center is open to walk-in clients during regular business hours three days a week, and to clients with emergencies Monday through Friday.  Staff are also available during normal business hours to address emergencies.  A telecommunication device for the deaf is available through the Philadelphia Bar Association.  SeniorLAW Center has a telephone message in English and Spanish to assist clients who call outside normal business hours, and bilingual staff and attorneys are available to aid non-English speaking clients.

Intake

Legal questions, problems or concerns can be addressed over the phone or in-person.  Most issues can be handled at least initially by telephone.

Community-based services expand SeniorLAW Center's ability to reach isolated clients and provide services in a comfortable environment in elders’ own neighborhoods.
