ADVOCACY FOR LONG-TERM SYSTEMIC SOLUTIONS

SeniorLAW Center’s staff also pursues long-term solutions and responses to problems of older adults through systemic advocacy.  Each member of the legal staff serves on numerous task forces, coalitions and committees addressing the problems of the elderly and the poor, to seek systemic solutions and responses to our clients’ problems.  These include the Emergency Fund Coalition for Older Philadelphians, the Philadelphia Task Force on Kinship Care, the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Task Force for the Protection of Older Adults, the Older Adults Protective Services Advisory Board, the Physicians for Social Responsibility Elder Abuse Task Force, Housing & Urban Development’s Vacancy Prevention Committee, Philadelphia Nursing Home’s Citizens Advisory Board, the Asian Advisory Committee for Aging Services, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging’s Latino Advisory Committee, and many others.
